So What Are Lash Extensions?
Lash extensions are a customizable enhancement to the lashes. We apply one synthetic lash to one natural lash with a strong adhesive, this results in longer, fuller, darker lashes. If you’re not sure about lash extensions here are some commonly asked questions:
How long do lash extensions last?
Lash extensions can lash a while as long as you have an experienced tech, using quality products, and you’re doing your part by taking care of them at home. Lash extensions require care and regular maintenance including:
- Daily cleaning + brushing
- Coming in every 2-3 weeks for fills
- Avoiding oily products
If you’re more a of a low maintenance type and coming in regularly doesn’t sound like you’re thing, that’s totally okay! Lashes aren’t for everyone!
Can I wear makeup with them?
You can, you just need to make sure anything in the eye area is “Lash Extension Safe” meaning it doesn’t contain oils, this include your skin care as well. Oils can start to break down the glue used, this can lead to premature fall out and lashes getting stuck to one another potentially pulling on neighboring lashes as they grow out.
To be honest though, the majority of clients with extensions don’t even feel the need to apply makeup at all! They feel ready to go with just their lashes done.
I have sensitive eyes, can I get lash extensions?
Depending how sensitive they are, we can always try!
If you find you have more sensitivities in general whether its your skin, eyes, you have allergies, etc. This could mean you may not be a great candidate for lashes unfortunately. Lash extensions would just be one more thing on top of everything else.
However, if you’d still like to give them a try why not? You can always get in contact to see if lashes would be a good fit and we can do a patch test prior to book an appointment to make sure there’s no reactions.
Classic? Volume? What does that mean?
Great question! Classic, Hybrid, Volume, etc all refer to the type of lash set and how many lashes are being used per lash.
Classic – 1 single lash extension per 1 single natural lash – great if you have a lot of natural lashes and are looking to add length and shape.
Volume – your tech will create a “fan” of multiple lightweight lashes, 1 fan is applied per 1 single natural lash – volume is great if you’re looking to add more fullness to you lashes, and its very customizable.
At Peach Body Waxing & Esthetics we offe Classic, Light Volume, and Full Volume lashe sets.
Can they get wet?
You definitely can! With most modern glues you can get your lashes wet right away! I like to always stay on the cautious side of things though and recommend that you keep them dry for a full 24hrs just to make sure the glue has completely cured. What can happen if we get them wet too soon is it can flash cure the glue before it’s ready to set and this lessens to integrity of the glue which can lead to lashes “popping off”.
What if I wear glasses?
Glasses, schmasses!
Of course you can get lash extensions! We’ll ask if you regularly wear glasses or contacts in our consultation, wearing glasses does limit us on the length we can use as we don’t want them bothering you by constantly touched them. If you wear contacts, we’ll ask you to come prepared to either remove them or wear your glasses to your appointment.
What are "fills"?
If you’ve ever gotten gel nails or acrylics it’s the same idea.
You’re lashes grow in stages and as they grow and naturally shed you’ll need to come back in so we can “fill” in any gaps. This means that we will be:
- Removing any extensions that have grown out too much, and replace as needed.
- Adding new extensions to lashes that may have been too short previously.
- Assessing the health of the lashes and ensuring you’ve been taking proper care.
Will they ruin my actual lashes?
Properly applied and removed lashes should have next to no damage. When lashes get ruined its generally due to improper application, not using the correct adhesive, or improper removal. Which is why it is so important to know who is applying your lashes, if you have questions ask! They should be happy to answer.
What if I want them taken off?
If you’re looking to take a break of finding lashes just arent for you, we get it!
When looking to remove the lashes we HIGHLY reccomned you book in for a removal. It is a medical grade adhesive that is being used and trying to do so at home you may have some success, but ultimately will likely end up with an unnecessary amount of lash loss that could have been avoided.
Preparing For Your Service
You’ve booked in, hurray! Here are some tips to get ready and make sure you get the most out of your service:
- Come with clean skin – the time scheduled is the time allotted for your appointment, the more time we have to spend on removing makeup, is less time on those lashes!
- Avoid caffeine – try to avoid excess caffeine before your appointment, it can make your eyes flutter, even if you don’t feel it and makes your techs job more difficult.
- Get cozy – come in a comfy outfit, you’ll be laying down for a while so why not ditch the jeans and put on some sweats! You might even have a lovely little nap!
- Use the washroom – you’ll be laying down for some time so it’s a good idea to use the bathroom before your service, even if you don’t think you need to go, go anyways, just to be safe.
- Remove contact lenses – if you wear contacts regularly, be prepared to remove them or wear your glasses to your appointment.
- Inspo – did you see a set of lashes you loved? Everyone’s lashes, face and eye shapes differ, but if you find a look you love we can definitely use it as out inspiration for your set!
That’s it! A little prep can go a long way in getting the best results.
What To Expect
Once you’ve parked, and you’ve found my studio I’ll have a quick form for you to fill out (I’ll send you a link for fill it out online, but paper copies are also available) I’ll welcome you into my space, confirm our services for this appointment, and review your form.
From there we’ll go through our consultation for what you’re looking for, and what you can expect for maintenance and home care. I’ll let you know how to get ready, while you’re getting settled and onto the treatment bed I’ll be washing my hands.
Then we’ll get some eye pads on, map out the set we’re doing, and I’ll start lashing. If you have any questions throughout the process you are more than welcome to ask away!
Once were finished I’ll go over aftercare, and let you put yourself back together all while I’m tidying up, spraying down my bed, etc to get ready for the next client. All that’s left now is payment and booking your fill!

Aftercare
Taking care of your brand new lashes is key to keeping them looking their best:
Right After Your Appointment:
- Avoid getting them wet – we want to keep them dry for the first 24 hours to make sure the glue has adequate time to completely cure.
- Book your fill – it’s best to book your fill sooner than later then you know you have the appointment. If you need to reschedule you can always contact us.
Home Care
- Wash you lashes daily – you’ll need to wash your lashes daily with a lash safe cleanser, and a lash brush to remove any makeup, build up of dead skin, natural oils, etc to ensure your lashes stay squeaky clean.
- Brushing them regularly – keeping a few extra spoolies around is good to maintain the look of your lashes. Brushing them helps keep their shape and can untangle then if they get too friendly with neighboring lashes.
